lap timing..

Post by kaneg »

Having sucessfully lost my mobile at EC (not exactly sure where  ) which I only really had for the purpose of laptiming, now I'm looking for the next phone and might as well get the one which has the capacity of sending as well as receiving the signals in the one unit.

Can you guys tell me which brand and which model I'm looking for.

Thanks,

Pete

If you want simple, my work phone is a 6120 nokia. Simple, and runs the simbian software needed for racechrono.
I think they can be had for around 150 as a prepaid. But If you want a good phone the choices are endless in the nokias

As lap timing is not allowed, and all timing devises must be removed, the only way around such things would be to have a lap timer built into the dash (if you don't already have one).
You can't remove that. But you cannot use the lap timing - OK.!!!

Try
Starline, AIM, translogic gpt etc..

Yeah I'm with you smithy on that, I'm also not looking for a second mortgage just a hideable phone which does the trick without the receiver, as even the one i have i'm not sure if it works ,when it works etc.. normally only works for one session and lately not even that..... so its actually good that i lost athe bugger ;)
Wattie, is the 6120 does the receiving as well? or do you need to get a receiver with it?

the 6120 needs a bluetoon receiver still.
with the blipper thing, just stick it somehwere hidden. alot of them will work from under rear seat cowl, up under nose of bike, un leathers pocket even. the internal ones on phones arent much chop normally.

im not sure anyones had too much success with using the internal GPS in the phones.
