z750 q&a

Post by 4th »

hey, i just bought an 08 plated z750 with protaper bars & alternate oem sprocket

im not used to having anything more than a speedo to look at & now i have candy

questions:

temperature guage, what is the average temperature 80-100C? what is the peak?

is this model prone to mild front light condensation or is this a potential warrantable item?

plans:

vince gp pro exhaust, ermax copy hugger

if anyone has costs, photos & e-tailers of where they got their crash knobs, belly & tail tidy please let me know

not sure how different it would be but on hot days my 04 Z750 runs at around 84deg, and cool days around 67, average is about 74, fan kicks in around 104 and it seems to help keep it down a bit, but it only hits that temp when stuck in traffic.

condensation was on outside of headlight, just new toy paranoia

i dont ride this as much as i did my 250 but just hit 6000km & broke

i miss the burble of the ugly stock cartoon bazooka pipe :( but this looks better

Love that pipe!! Was considering a set like that for my Z made by Mivv. I like the GP style pipe, and the raw materials and welding. Plain and simplistic, or industrial looking. (i sound like some arty wanker :? ) I bet it sounds nice too!!
As for the temp guage, at least you have a gauge to keep an eye on. My Z doesnt even come with a guage. Only way i know its getting hot is when the thermo fan starts up.

My '07 model typically runs at about 84 degrees, hotter in the middle of summer. Temp has reached 108 in the M5 tunnel. Cold winter mornings will see the temp as low as 59. Never had condensation problems. My seat cowl is a genuine Kawasaki item - cost $165 from Aitken's Motorcycles at Liverpool, back when they were still Kawasaki dealers. (That's where I bought my bike from, too).

DieselKwaka> yeh the look it suits the bike and sounds awesome in tunnels but a bit offensive under quick acceleration

Mantis> looks like ill have to source ermax from US, weird how you can buy stuff from UK/EU from US cheaper than you can buy it from them direct tho

re: fender eliminator

if i had this laser cut to bolt direct into stock parts, break press bent to similar angles & powdercoated it would probably look factory but do you think this would be outside of ADR law still?

might also have to take into account shock under full load vs rear tyre
