Z1000 2010 silencer

A big hello from England... Can someone give me the technical reason for the waste gate on the RH silencer (Z1000 2010) and would it help or hinder performance if when I refit them (after being chromed) I didn’t connect the cables?

Hi Jim for older bikes the FI light would stay on, one way to fix this is a bar that sits on the servo motor to trick the FI system into thinking the cables are still there.

I've got mine disconnected at the servo. Leave the electrical loom connected though, so the FI light doesn't come on. Only thing I've noticed is it runs rich when idling.
