Help on tyres.

I was just looking for some advice on tyres for my young blokes 06 ZX6R.He does a fair bit of commuting so I was after something fairly durable..but i'm just not to sure ..any help would be great ..

Pilot Road 2 are a good tyre. hard centre, medium edge, reasonable in the wet, good life etc. For a bit more confidence go the softer 2ct front (medium centre soft edge).

Bridgestones new sports touring tyre are called the bt 023 , dual compound front and rear. Ideal for commuting. But if price is important the bt 015 is there superseded sports tyre there selling as there economy range tyre.

I've got Mich pilot sports 2CTs on both my ZX9R fighter and GSXR 600 and I can't fault them for grip in the wet and commuting. The rear tyre on my GSXR has clocked 16500km and still has heaps of tread and those km include a trip to Tassie and two track days.

I use pilots, good mileage plus grippy once warm. I do 160ks a day. Plus they dont break the bank.

Soon to arrive in my garage will be another ZX9 for track duties only---- Gotta love em -----. Since I have had my head up my arse for a while now I have avoided all ongoing debates on "what is the best tyre?" I now find myself officialy clueless. ----> comments to the above in 25 words or less please Hoffy.
So who rules the roost nowadays in terms of track day tyres? What would you rate in terms of superior grip in wet / dry, longevity, feedback, price.
All feedback greatfully accepted ( except that of Hoffy ) and also perhaps you could punt this thread along in its original direction of road use, I did highjack it afterall.

2CT's are the ducks guts for good grip and reasonable mileage. Given that commuting is high on the agenda, then the dual-compound in these tyres will be exactly what the young bloke needs.

Ado - if you can find some - have a nudge at the Bridgie 003's mate. These are a track-day special, heaps of grip but you will need to use warmers, so you can get a handful of track days out of them.
