Slow tire leak

Hey guys, I have a slow leak in my rear tire, I lost most pressure over a period of about 8 days...

What is the course of action? Its not a very old tire...

Give it a once over for punctures, even on the sidewall and if nothing is found pump it up and put soapy water on it to see if you can find the cause by way of bubbles. even soap over the valve, sometimes they go too, and if they do its a super easy fix that can be done in a matter of seconds (excluding de/re-inflating the tire.)

whats the fix if I find the leak?

if its the seal to the rim, maybe getting it cleaned up and re-seated will do the trick.
If it's the sidewall, throw it out, can't be safely fixed.
if it's a small puncture the tread of the tire then a plug can be installed, either a worm from the outside (which i recently put in my tyre after it ingested a metal offcut) or a mushroom plug installed on the inside. Former = easy and quick to add, not quite as sure a fix as a mushroom plug though.
If it's a slice (like it got stabbed with a knife) it's probably gone / unrepairable.
If it's the valve, easily fixed as above.
If its the valve stem, tyre needs to come off to instigate repair/replacement.

yeah, i'd chuck one of those tubless repair kits in it, the ones with the chord dipped in tar stuff are best for getting through small holes without tearing the bung. rubber bungs are hard to get in.

these ones with the rubber ones suck donkeys balls. the rubber tears when you stick it in. and your tyre gets pregnant. oh hang on... nah tyres are infertile.

I once got a tyre fitted that went down over 2 days........ could not find a problem with the valve & it was a new tyre so I ruled out the tread section, because the rim was off the bike I placed it flat on the bench & poured water round the rim...... hey presto found the leak! turns out the brush they use to put on the lube shit on the edge of the tyre was disintegrating, I could not believe my eyes..... there were bristles between the tyre & rim..... stupid fuckers

Hey,

Was wondering if you guys know anywhere in the West of Melbourne (St Albans, Sunshine etc) that would do 'mushroom' plugs for a punctured tyre. Also if Bob Janes T-mart on Elizabeth St. do puncture repairs and plugs on motorbikes. Also, how much would it cost to get a tyre plugged with a 'mushroom' plug?

mushroom plug with the wheel off the bike $25-35 with wheel on the bike upwards of $50+ dont forget they should rebalance the wheel as well
