Nice Storm.
I was gonna buy 1 a few years back when i was in the market to upgrade to a litre twin. At the time it was a toss up between 3 bikes : Suzuki's SV1000S, Firestorm and the SP2. I ended up going for the SV, mainly because i wasn't keen on the old technology of carbies on a brand new bike with the Storm, and i didn't want to race everywhere i went on the SP2.
But even tho the storm is carbed, i still think its the best sounding twin in the field. Nothing like the sound of them when they are screaming at high revs.
Keep in mind... you can drop a SP1/SP2 engine into the storm, complete with electronics and a bit of wiring to mate the 2 looms together :)
They are obviously a well built bike, since they were in the fleet of Honda's for I think 10 years before they stopped making them.

Looks great - love the idea of a 1000cc v-twin :kuda:
I don't like the term insane - I prefer mentally hilarious!

What kind of money are we talking about for a SP engine and lume, dash etc.

The VTR isn't very impressive in my point of view. Honda admitted that they fixed a common problem that occurred with these bikes by not making them any more. Check out the last Gingers Creek thread to see what I'm talking about.

Not sure Storm. This was a few years back. But have a look for a Aus firestorm forum, i remember it being in there under the projects threads.

Nice bike. I recently traded my red 04 Storm for a Z1000. Loved it and only stepped off because of the riding position getting too painful. Otherwise rock solid reliable and a sound to die for.

nice bike Storm,
I previously has the teal green color VTR, great fun at a reasonable price, just wish the tank had better mileage.
have you thought of de-baffling those standard cans, real easy job and they sound AWESOME after wards....the closest you can get to a Ducati 1098 thump without the $$$$ outlay hahaha

Yep, One of the first things I did was debaffle the cans.
I also find the 16 litres a pain in the arse...as well as the riding position....
But that said, what a fun bike to ride...Would love a set of Microns. :D
