Not yokel but keen to do it as an alternative to keep the training interesting, pm me with rough details & I will see what I can doDizzi wrote:For the yokels that are interested in training with us, it is 8km from Mount Colah Station to Berowra Station so am going to start doing that twice a week starting this week if anyones wants to train with us.
I am training every day & hopefully I can get back to doing 5K in under 22 min, but last time I did that was 6 years ago

you'll be right dave you'll get used to that pretty soon and with people egging you on easydave#3 wrote:As Justin mentioned in the other thread, I'm doing the 8km run on Sunday 6th June in Sydney as a warm-up to a 9km run in September and because it's a damned good cause that I'm happy to support. I've got a few guys and girls from work joining me and it looks like I'll get some sponsorship from my employer too. Currently I'm jogging about 5km's a day, 3 days a week, so 8km's will be a struggle, I might even end up walking bits of it but who cares.
i'll join ya too firey for the schooymetre run

Re: [Syd/Melb] MS Walk and Fun Run Event 6th June
C'mon guys and gals if grandma and grandpa Green can do this then so can the rest of yas, and man I am as close to granny as they get, I am doing it even with my bung knees!!!!!!!!!! mind you the man has the idea that we will walk part of the way I am determined to try and run most of it.
so the training schedule for the yokels is tomoz night and Thursday night this week, then on the weekend, that is whatever day suits Rob Racer, but bring it on folks if we are running 8km three times a week we got no excuse not to be able to do this. WOOOOHOOOHOO here goes at least 5kg more weight loss, bring it onnnnnnnnnnnnn

If you organise it, they will come. I'm not a runner, but would totally do a pub walk for MS fundraisingfireyrob wrote:How many pubs along the way? And who wants to do a pub crawl? Maybe tshirts to mark off each schooner? 8km should equate to approx 20 beers so it could be a long day...

Ok we just did an 8km easy walk/run and it wasn't all that bad, feel good for it, so even if your doing the pub crawl it will be worth it.

Would love to but will be occupied elsewhere that weekend. The Mrs may be keen to do one of the walks if there is anyone else keen on that?Cath wrote:If you organise it, they will come.
