Rules are simple:

Buy a 600 Tim and get a dirt bike as well, you'll then have arrived at Nirvana.

Sorry to hear mate but it'll work out for the best. Stay occupied with your band and bikes etc and hang around with the cool crowd ie us (well not necessarily me but I've heard there are cool people here). Do the WGM's every Friday night that'll, keep you sane (oh and there's this lady at South Windsor leagues called Shazza but you'll need to fight Ron for her :) :) )
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

If by Having a hard time, you mean that the break up has negatively effected you, then I can definately empathise with you. The one thing which made me feel a lot better, was all the support I recieved from people on this forum, so venting here is probably one of the best things you could do. 8)

Thinking back to the time when I was experiencing similiar feelings, the one thing which made me feel better, was those in here who kept reminding me that "THINGS WILL GET BETTER". And, they did! Every day got easier, until one day I woke up and could actually put a smile on my face without forcing it. I now have a fantastic relationship with a new girl and my financial situation, took an upward trend. (Until recently, when economic forces sent it spirally down again...but it's now back on the way up!! )

I found that I didn't actually want to ride at the time I was going through that situation. But, each person is different. I just didn't want my hands on the handlebars of a 280kph bike, while my mind wasn't completely focussed. But, you might find riding is good therapy. I guess it depends on where your head is at right now.

One thing for sure, when I could, talking to people was a big step forward for me. Some people in here (They know who they are and I am eternally grateful for what they did) were invaluable. They listened and offered support and kept reminding me that things will get better. With that said, if you ever want to chat, PM me yr number and I would be more than happy to take some time to listen or whatever. I certainly know it was what got me through a difficult situation. 8) :)

I can't really offer any advice, but I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out for you. Good luck, and yell out if there's ever anything you need.

Mate mate mate mate maaaate...that sucks.

However I've been there, done this...only mine was a bit more long-term so check this thread out for my...umm, journey: http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17046

...and a sorry and sordid tale it is ;).

The upshot of it is:
* You'll feel like shit and without direction at the beginning. This will pass.
* You'll feel like you've failed, but you're not sure exactly what it is you've failed at. This lessens, however where it doesn't really go 100%, it just becomes less important.
* You'll lack in self-confidence at the beginning. This too will pass.
* Time will heal all wounds. Sounds trite, but it's true.

What to do in the meantime?
* Be good to yourself and try and lessen self-destructive behaviour (by this I mean risk-taking, booze, drugs whatever).
* Do things you enjoy and you know will make you feel good.
* Try and get a good night's sleep every night and eat well.
* Exercise. Worked for me, still does.
* Talk to someone if you feel things becoming too overwhelming. This may be venting on this forum, your parents, or one of the guys you work with. I chewed the ears off a couple of guys at work, it's something mates do for each other .
* Hang around positive supportive people...if you know any .
* Get out there.

FWIW I found my new partner on RSVP. She has been a pleasure to share my life with. You may not like online relationship sites but they are a handy way of seeing what is out there if you're not the pub or club type. Yep there are few nutters online, but there are nutters everywhere.

I word from the wise. Be very wary of people that claim to be a relationship counsellor but then tell you their last two relationships were with (1) an alcoholic depressive and (2) a fairly committed drug user. When they then start to 'counsel' you on your failed relationship with someone who bats for the other team ("How did you not know", "Didn't you see the signs"...well, no I didn't she's been lying to me for six months and she does it all when I'm at work) and if she doesn't like the question 'How come you seem to be a co-dependant' back in their face then you know it's time to back away :).

Take care, Mick 8)

Hey mate, from someone who has had their heart, torn, broken, stolen and ripped apart my biggest advice is life is to short, what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, I am sure you have had that so many times and it's as annoying as all hell but it's so true, so mate go and have some serious fun there is a big wide world waiting for you to put your mark on it mate and if you ever need some company to laugh at give us a hoi.

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.
