there is one of two things taking place..

1. The nerd faction are hoping to slowly take over and turn this into a star wars forum

2. Dave needs more help getting rid of spam.

To reduce spam we have changed the new member sign up. New members will now have to have there first post approved by a moderator. It can only be seen by moderators until it is approved and the moderator will then check the members details to make sure they are not spammers.
Owen offered to help out so this process happened as quick as possible and as he has had forum / IT experience the offer was taken up.
As we do not really moderate the site, and admins / mods do not have any real influence over what happens on the forum, most of there involvement is behind the scenes and more to do with the forum software, its operation and anti spamming than anything else.
If the new forum software works out and reduces the spamming without much moderaor involvement things will go back as previous....
