Re: oil change problem
Has the oil pressure sender wire come off.
Re: oil change problem
Had the same problem with my 96 600. Read my thread.
1) Fill oil filter
2) Put oil filter on, allow it loose enough to leak small amounts of oil
3) Start engine. This should get any air pockets out.
4) Retighten oil filter and refil oil to correct level.

Re: oil change problem
oil pressure wire is still on. the bike was running sweet with no troubles but was due for an oil change. droped the oil , filled new filter , put it on and filled engine , started it and my troubles started. oil light wont go out, tried burping it but no good.

Re: oil change problem
hi just done mineand had the same problem there are a couple of things to try ,try cracking the oil filter and restarting it and if that doesnt work lie it down on the right hand side and make sure its the right hand side and leave it lying there for about 5 minutes go and have a coffee , this workeed on mine is common apparently with kawas they get air blockages so try that
Re: oil change problem

Re: oil change problem
Still no luck . remove the oil sender switch and fit a pressure gauge. this will at least tell you if the motor has oil pressure if it has then the problem may well be the sender.
Re: oil change problem
giving my location this might be a bit hard. would it be cheaper to replace the sender ? the bike ran sweet thats why im so stumped.
