The bike has HISS2, anti-theft key-specific Honda security. I also use a Kyptonite U-Lock on the front disk with a curly cord to remind me it's on there.

Would that cause any problems when using for extended periods ??
I just don't like the idea of having the brakes locked on for a few hours, but what about a few days or even longer ??

That was one thing i'm not to sure about, i don't think it would be any good having the brake locked on. Maybe the disc lock is still the way to go.

I live in the middle of nowhere. If no-one is around they can make as much noise as they like, and the tools are in the shed with the bike .

No real point locking the disk then I guess.

i don't think locking the brake on could be harmful to pads, disk or hydraulic system... at least i hope not, i used to lock the brake on over night to get air bubbles out of the hoses.
besides a handbrake on cars work on a similar concept.

dont know about this for a security item tho, its a lot easier to come along with a box cutter and slice your brake hose and wheel it into a van than it would be if it had a disk lock.

oh and i used to use a disk lock, as my steering lock was damages so i could never lock the bars.

i bought this as it seems a clone of the xena lock. have set it off and the bastard is loud enough to hurt. Also bought this (or at least another one that was equivalent). It just connects to 12v and thats it.

Haven't put it on yet, but am going to see how it goes. the other one i was considering had remote start and a few other bits and peices but i couldn't be arsed with the extravagant installation procedures.
