A motorcyclist has had his bike seized by police after he was picked up travelling 183 km/h in a 70km/h zone in Melbourne's west.
Police seized the bike belonging to the 37-year-old man from Ardeer after he was caught speeding along Footscray Road, West Melbourne around 8.20pm (AEDT) on Wednesday night.
"At that speed it doesn't matter if he makes a mistake or someone else does, either way he's in serious trouble or worse off still, dead," said Senior Constable Greg Varcoe said.
The motorcyclist, a father of four, has held his bike licence for less than a year and was riding a Suzuki GSXR10 bike which is not an approved bike within his licence specifications.
