looking for opinions/suggestions from people that live in the Port Macquarie region.
In Nov/Dec I did a month stint for work in Laurieton, loved the area. The guys I work for won the contract and offered me a spot up there on 3year contract. I will be going to Tarree in March to do some more work up there, but Home base/factory will be in Port, and I will be working on all the towns around Port within a 100km radius.
If the money is right I will be going up there for sure.
Any suggestions from locals of Port Macquarie on good family orientated suburb to move too along the coast e.g. 20/30min south of Port ?
Besides the Oxley , any good spots to ride. Tracks etc?
Cheers, Andre.

... port is a loverly place... used to be a nice quiet retirement town..
... don't leave your bike parked down the main drag of Taree over night if you ever head there.

The Kawasaki shop in Port just closed down last month as well.
I would look at Port over Taree for some where to stay. It is a big enough town to have most things and has less crime than Taree. If you want something cheaper try Warchope maybe. It is also close to the Oxley. Even if it is a bit more of a country town.

I definately wont be moving to Tarree if i take this job on, I will just be working in that town for a month (march). I am replaceing service power lines to all defected houses within a 100km radius of Port Macquarie.I did a 1 month stint in Laurieton back in November, loved it there. I might check out Lake Cathie. Warchope sounds good as the Oxley will be right in the back yard but the misses wants somewhere coastal.
Hard decision to make due to the fact that I havent spent much time up there and will be starting from scratch socially, but if the dollars are good
