Reefton- New 80kph limit.
Just heard a rumour from another rider that the Reefton is now posted at 80kph from Cambarvale Junction all the way to Warburton!

Nah, everything will be fine because they will put up *safety* cameras to protect them...Phil wrote:Seems to be a disease thats catching![]()

Re: Reefton- New 80kph limit.
I saw a 'safety' camera work once.
Someone was driving and a set of giant mechanical arms shot out of the camera, Transformers-style, and picked the car off the road without scratching it.
A lovely voice politely reminded the driver that their car was picked up because the caring Nanny State had decided that the driver could not be responsible for his own safety and but, thankfully, the Nanny State could be.
For this reminder service, the nanny state, rather than let the car back onto road again, used the 'safety' camera to remove money from the driver, effectively taking food from his family.
Upon placing the car back on the road again, the 'safety' camera told the driver that if he drove in a way that the nanny state did not approve again, he would not be allowed to drive on the road as using a road is a privelege, not a right, even though the driver's money paid for the road.
If it was not for 'safety' cameras, I do not think I would be able to sleep at night.
God bless 'safety' cameras.

Spur was empty today, except for 3 cops hiding in the bushes - I'm glad I did a sighting run. Am getting closer to not having a road bike and doing more track days.

Not at all.
I am just over revenue raising.
I should not blame the police as they are just the tools of our government.
As I put politicians in the same realm as car salesman and lawyers, how much respect can I have for their tools?
