Name's Ron, 22 and just about to get my learner's (excited) so pretty much decided that I'd rather get a ZXR250 over the CBR or RS. If you guys have any tips or advice that would be awesome

I was actually thinking more along the lines of reliability, parts availability, re-sale and age, but add Mikes valid points as well and the case is mounting against the "grey import 250's".mike-s wrote:Got to agree with Phil, although the 4cyl's go to the heavens with their redline, they certainly seem a little fussier at the lower revs. Some may say i'm talking out my arse here, but I have found that it can be a slight pita getting clutch feathering right on the small 4 cyl's compared to the 2 cyl 250's & bigger 4 cyl bikes.
Oh and if that's insufficient deterrent, think how many wanna-be boy racers may have touched the zxr before you in an effort to have "the fastest and bestest" learner legal bike around.
Phil's right, the new 250 looks yards better than the old zxr250.
