SIDI BOOTS
SIDI BOOTS
Does anyone use Sidi Corsa or the new Vortice boots for road use only. If so are they any good for that purpose. No doubt they are great boots but are they worth the trouble for road use only. I need a new pair of boots and up until now have used good touring boots but do not do much touring these days just rides thru the hills and the added protection would be good.

Plenty of people like the Sidi's they don't fit my foot that well though so I ended up with Alpine Stars (GPS3) again.
cheers

You can tell this from wearing them around the house oncedogcrapau wrote:they are awesome boots, very comfortable, and more flexible yet stil protective i recon.

When you are doing 2-3 day trips wearing the boots the whole time thats when you know if they are comfortable

nah i have 2 sidis!
these were the supposedly to be my replacement sidis.
instead of patching up the parts of the old one. i jus tbought a new one.
Re: SIDI BOOTS
Great boots. Crashed twice in them and they've saved me a lot of pain.
They aren't great for walking around in tho. Not unbearable but you wouldn't want to wear them all day off the bike.

Re: SIDI BOOTS
It all depends on your foot. They don't fit my foot as well as Alpine Stars do so they are not for me. My advice is to go in and try on everything you can and see what suits your foot shape the most.

Re: SIDI BOOTS
I have the Vortice and they comfortable enough, just like any other boot they are not as comfortable as a shoe.......... but comfortable enough. But every foot is different, so I have to agree with Nelso. Try as many of them on as possible.

Re: SIDI BOOTS
I am looking into getting some Sidi boots but now sure which ones to get is there much of a difference between the B2's and the Vertigo's? apart from price as the B2's are cheaper.
Re: SIDI BOOTS
I've got a set of the B2's and had them on when I crashed at EC and I think the Vertigo's would give you better protection.
I have a couple of issues with the B2's and that fact that my left heel was farking sore for over a month, my second toe got pretty banged up and the bits of plastic on the sides dug into my foot and bruised them too. I guess they provided some protection but not as much as I would've liked.

Re: SIDI BOOTS
Ok so it's safe to say the B2's would be ok for comuting to and from work but not the best for track work.
Re: SIDI BOOTS
Dunno, it's your choice how much protection you want for commuting.

Re: SIDI BOOTS
Brought a pair of Vortice about 3-4 months ago and are more than happy with them. Use them for both track and road use. The extra adjustment means that you can get them to fit properly whether you're wearing leathers or jeans. Done a couple of 7 day rides with them as well, no problems. Bit awkward to walk around in, but you get use to it.jimszx14 wrote:Does anyone use Sidi Corsa or the new Vortice boots for road use only. If so are they any good for that purpose. Re: SIDI BOOTS
Thanks for the advice. I purchased a pair of Alpinestar Supertech R boots. I don't use them for commuting they are for riding thru the hills, that might be overkill but if you could see the problems my mate has had with his ankle after a prang you mightn't think that, besides that, I have reached that stage in life that I have a few spare bob and I wanted a good pair of boots. Will let you know after a couple of months what I think. I got them rather than the Sidis becasue of comfort.
