Took bike to Thomas's in Whittlesea for quote, while still on trailer the service manager said "write off"....

The cage's Insurer (Allianz) will be assessing Wed 23rd March, 2 days, then we'll see what sort of rude offer they will give ?? They said to take over riding gear to inspect also :D Seeing as we were gonna buy new lids anyway.

Will keep you informed as to long it takes.

cheers and thanks for well wishes.

Bugger! I come back after 2 weeks without internet, and all these people decide they don't want their bikes anymore...

Thanks for the ideas.

Hope you're back riding again soon.

It appears we'll get $2000 for bike, Thomas's will buy bike for $1000 and Insurer (cages) will pay rest. Also Insurer will pay $700 for clothing replacement Helmet Boots and Jacket.

So will be in market for another bike soon, hopefully late next week. The pain begins again, it took so long to find the GPx....

cheers

Ah, but isn't bike shopping fun though?

Be nice to be able to go bike shopping again...there was a nice looking GPZ900R in Stanthorpe listed on ebay earlier today...was at $1725 with minutes to go...if only...

Actually I was lamenting the fact that I couldn't pick it up for myself...

'er indoors did something very sneaky though, she utterred the words "if you really want it and you think we can afford it then go ahead..."

So you'd go the GPX again or just looking for anything suitable?

Just 'cause I'm bored...

In the paper today:

2001 GPX250R 6 months rego, RWC $3600

1992 ZZR250 unspecified reg $3000 (for a '92?)

But t'ba might be a bit further than you wanted to travel...

Mick / T,

I dont know how much you guys want to spend, but I spotted a '99 GPX 250 in lime green parked beside the Pacific Hwy in Mt Colah today - I know this is a long way from Melbourne, but I stopped to have a look anyway.

The K's are a bit high (38,000) and the can and bar-end are a bit scratched from a previous road-surfing incident, but the plactics seem to have been repaired / replaced as they are in good nick.

Overall it looked a bit scruffy, but at only $2900 (and you'd probably talk him down more) it might be worth a look.

I'm happy to give it a test-ride if your interested.

Congrat's on the insurance front. From what i recal it sounds like you've done pretty well from the right off. esp including lack of injuries.

Good luck finding a new Scoot T! :)
Will def have to keep an eye out for ya's.

A guy from uni tells me that the GPX is actually $3900 (so I checked the paper, and he is right...tired eyes I guess) and bike has 20,000km on it. He knows the guy selling it, and apparently it is pretty damn good...still, probably too far for ya's...

But they may be interested in dropping the price a bit by cashing in unused qld rego, and maybe meet you half way on shipping...interested?
