Ok, so i get the swing arm sorted, but some how i have created a slipping clutch problem while inspecting the front sprocket.

Any ideas  . Seems to do it all the time when you open the throttle firmly :?

change the oil - its due for a change anyway ??

hard to see how you could get a slipping clutch from looking at the front sprocket....did you take it off ?? Any problems in this area could manifest as chain jumping off sprocket and causing massive trauma ......

Gos,

Hydrolic clutch :? To get the cover off, you must remove the slave cylinder. From what i can tell, its not completely dissengaging :x So, under normal operation, its ok. Under a little more throttle, she slips :x

I might be taking it to Sydney, so i would like it sorted before i go...

If your plates are slipping, a change of oil can often fix this - but if the slave cylinder is not fully dis-engaging, this will feel much the same as slipping plates......

Hydraulic clutches are a pain in the arse. I had this problem with Bogan's slave cylinder, except in reverse - the piston was not pushing the clutch-rod in far enough....so very difficult to change gears as clutch was always 'engaged' to some extent.... :?

You may have to completely remove the slave cylinder and piston, then remove & check the piston to make sure it is moving freely - it may have become slightly mis-aligned which will cause it to 'hang-up' while moving, and this *could* be the source of the problem......worth checking out anyway.

Either that, or ride it like a GS500 !!

Pfft, i could thrash it and not scare myself, the ZRX, i scare myself in straight lines still, let alone coming out of corners....

On a side note, i still think i was faster on the GS... well, through corners

Thanks for the advice, ill go take a look and see what i can find.... 8)

When taking the sprocket cover off, they say to pull the clutch lever in and cable tie it before taking the cover off. Did you do it this way?

No, but i stuffed it.

All is now fixed. I pulled it down and put it all back together and bled it with some new fluid. Works better now. [EDIT] Not taking the bike now[/EDIT]
