yeah man, unless the advice is tailored to your situation its not really going to help.tim wrote:I think you'd better give better information about your options and the associated costs if we're gonna be able to give specific advice!
eg: theft cover...do you ride to work? park the bike within view? lock the bike up tight in the garage at night? etc etc.

Big difference between insuring a zzr250 and a zx6r mate - chalk and cheese comes to mind!badTRx wrote:bushy im only 22 and got mine for just ova 600 for full comp so i cant see y u couldnt... i think theft protection is a must becuase im out here in the sticks of queensland and i aint unheard of for bikes goin missing so i dare say it would be worse in the bigger area's..Bushy wrote:yeah im only 21... so $600 comp is not reachable.

Re: GET INSURANCE?
My opinion, take it or leave it - if you can't afford insurance (min 3rd party), you can't afford a road bike.
Same answer for people questioning the cost of protective gear.
It's part of the cost of ownership.
Shop around and be honest.
I think most insurers these days are backed by a small group of companies so I think there's less possibility of getting a shonky insurer (ie one that won't pay out when you need it). So the 'new' comers like insuremyride are worth a look.

If you have no fear, you're not going fast enough.

Re: GET INSURANCE?
yeah i have 2 disc locks on my bike, and one fat arse chain masterlock i think that is linked through a kryptonite lock bolted to the ground + immobiliser and steering lock!!!!
i wont use it for work and only will ride to the girlies really + days out but.
With that sort of protection on my bike at home you think that would deter a smelly little thief?
My bike is behind a roller door under a car port so you cant see it from the street.
mayby i should just pay it so i can sleep at night?
