Re: New Trackie - take 2
OK, so after starting the strip down for inspection last night there are a few questions. The first one is pretty easy, this clip on is bent yeah?
Next question, what's the factory handlebar setup on these things (it's a 1994)? This one has aftermarket clip ons, and they're above the top triple clamp:
This is completely different to my 750, and if it's anything like the RGV having the forks up this far through the triples will make it twitchier than if they were down flush (but then the clip ons would have to go under the triple clamp). Found this on Ronayers.com which indicates they have riser type clip ons that go on top of the triple, but our triple looks different. Thoughts?
Also in the second pic above you can see that the stuff has been wound out of the forks, some sort of adjustment. Any idea what this is and whether we should wind it in or out or just leave it as it is to start with?
Also there's no fan but there is a radiator, everything is lockwired, would the fan be something that gets removed for racing? The factory parts diagrams definitely show a fan.

Re: New Trackie - take 2
leave the proload is is at the moment.
some of these models had the clip ons on top of the triples. so nothing wrong there.
clip on is bent yes.
the fan should be a problem for a tracky, juts keep an eye on the temp when idling.

Re: New Trackie - take 2
Easier said than done, bare bones track bike means no temp gauge
. No keys. No tacho or speedo.
What's the easiest tacho setup to put in? Or even the easiest shift light setup? Oh yeah, easiest and cheapest

Even though the compliace says 94 build year it a 95 "model", that was the first year of the ZX6 after the ZZR600. The handlebar diagram you have is for a US market ZX-6 94 model that is in fact a ZZR600 or as they called it in the US ZX-6 Ninja. You Need the 95 ZX-6R diagram.

Re: New Trackie - take 2
Yep thanks for that we figured that (well I did after the fact anyway) but thanks
.
So I'm still none the wiser, do the handlebars usually go on under or over the top triple clamp?
Mike???
