operating temperature ZX6RR 03

Post by MrFaulty »

Hi, I just bought a 2003 ZX6RR, what temp should they run at - mine was anywhere between 69-89 degrees and it even got as hot as 99 when sitting in the traffic - I have to check maybe the thermo isn't working?

All good.....
mild day = 70-80 deg. C
hot day = 80-100 deg. C
Fan should cut in around 103 deg. C. and cut out around 91 deg. C.
I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..
If it's got wheels or tits, it's gonna give you trouble !

why? if its above 100 its too hot and the fan cuts in, if its below 100 its acceptable and the fan cuts out... done it since the day i got it... :?

dontknow.gif .... just quoting the manual. dontknow.gif

"When the coolant temperature goes up beyond 95 ∼ 101°C (203 ∼ 214°F), the radiator fan switch
conducts to operate the radiator fan. The radiator fan draws air through the radiator core when there
is not sufficient air flow such as at low speeds. This increases up the cooling action of the radiator.
When the coolant temperature goes down from the operation temperature by 3 ∼ 8°C (37 ∼ 46°F), the
fan switch opens and the radiator fan stops."
