zx6r 96 thermo fan

Post by freestyler »

Noticed my thermo fan wasn't coming on today. checked the plug and looks fine, put power directly to the plug and it turns on. but wont come on automatically.
Is there a common electrical problem for this, I didn't notice any loose earth straps.
Ideas?

Cheers

If the fan guns on when it's getting power then it sounds like a faulty thermo switch. I had the same problem, $20 switch from a wrecker and it fixed it up

have a look at the sides of the radiator, should be screwed in there with wires going to it
anyone can go fast in a straight line,,,,

On the left hand side of the bike. You can see it through the fairing but you may need to remove the fairing to get a spanner in there to unscrew it.

Oh and make sure you flush the radiator before you remove the switch ;)
