Well Brian, first off, it feels lighter (I know it's not much lighter if any at all) but the way the weight is distributed, it feels easier to flick from side to side. In discussion with Stewy (suspension tech) for my weight, the rear sag was perfect (I am 75 kg's) but the attitude of the bike is definitely more aggressive than the 06/07, as in the rear is set higher stock, which makes for a quicker turn in (I noticed this on a few corners, especially the slower corners).. so I found I can actually carry more speed into the corner, brake later and turn quicker... the brakes are definitely better than the 06/07... It has more acelleration than the 06/07 and the top end you can really feel it, with the new gear ratios, mainly 4th and 5th where the front feels light .. I felt it rounding turn 12 in 4th and then winding the throttle on.. felt very good...!! It was only my first ride at the track, and I will get better as I get used to it, but I felt I could go much faster on this bike quicker than before.. so my aim is to get to a 1.48 or better before Xmas... I have always made small steps this way, but once you get used to the feel of the bike and the speeds you have to get to to make these times, you can generally keep it up... I just have to get the front worked out.. I was so surprised how firm the front is stock...!! Still there are many ride days to go before Xmas holidays..!!!

Russ, we are definitely going to have to do a rolling drag on the straight just for interest sake..??

Remember mine is totally stock gearing too... As you have one also, I think you will want to swap your street bike into a trackie..!!!

Thanks Macca, interesting observations. In summation :

- weight and/or distribution
- rear ride height
- brakes
- top end

I've got all these mods in hand for the 07, so nice to know I'm on the right track ! :)

Cheers,
Brian

haha, good stuff. i was wondering if i needed to stick a stunt sprocket on the rear.

1 down on the front should be sufficient.
