Just had a shit time getting to the air filter....
I downloaded the service manual off the net just to ensure I knew what to do given this was my first attempt.
I turned the fuel tap to off. Then I removed the fuel line to the filter. For some reason, the instruction manual told me to remove the screw that hold the tap in it's housing. So I did.....fuel stared to flow from the outlet to the filter given I had taken the pressure off the gasket. Then the fuel tap itself came loose from the tap housing, gasket and all.
Well fuck I say, I had fuel pissing out the outlet to the filter and the tap housing. Luckily I only had a quarter of a tank, but next thing I know I had fuel running down my arm whislt trying to put the fuel tap back in its housing.
I put the hose back on the outlet and managed to stem the flow of fuel from the housing long enough for me to cut a length of garden hose and drain the remainder of the tank....
Gave me the shits....tank is now off, tap is now fixed and the BMC / K&N (not too sure which one to get yet) air filter is ready to go on......
Plugs are next whilst all this is off, oil, oil filter, chain lube and a dyno tune are to come in readiness for it's first track day. Anyone know of a good place to have a dynotune done, eastern suburbs of Melbourne (Rowville)?
Not happy Jan!!

Re: Changing Air Filters
I think the screw they refer to is the one holding the plastic tap knob to the fuel tap itself NOT the fuel tap in to the tankgreen10 wrote:. For some reason, the instruction manual told me to remove the screw that hold the tap in it's housing. So I did.....
