Hey Guys thanks for the good words.

Six yeah sure mate im keen as mustard, got this puppy sitting down stairs and i can't ride it (i've been sitting on it and pretending, i'm not gonna lie :)). Bloody st ives have the rider train/test next avail on the 23 of november....The closest one available is in tuggerah next wednesday, looks like i'll be driving up there for it.

I've been reading some posts about riding gear, i really have no idea, is there some giant shop I can go and buy all the gear? I think I need at least jacket and gloves for the pre learner 2 days ?

Where abouts and what is the old road

Hi Reedy and welcome! :kuda:

No need to take gear to the pre-learners. You need long pants and long sleeve shirt and enclosed footware. They'll supply helmet and gloves and you probably won't go over 20km/hr.

But, seeing as tho you can be on the road as soon as you take that little green certificate to the RTA you may as well get yourself your gear so you're safe from the start, and once you get your ls you'll just wanna ride no matter what gear you have.

So, best to get at least

Helmet
Leather gloves
Jacket (keep in mind summer's coming and hot=distraction which you don't need while learning)
Draggins or eqiivalent (but more protection=better, including leather pants, textile pants etc with armour, or some motorcross armour under jeans)
Boots

If that's adding up to too much $$$ I'd say Helmet - Gloves - Jacket - Boots - Motorcross Knee Protection - Protective Pants is a reasonable order to purchase in.

Enjoy pre-learners mate, and once you're on the road practice practice practice practice EVERYTHING they teach you it's a strong foundation!!

Cool thanks for the welcomes everyone

Went to the bike shop today, bloke reckons large shark helmet $300-350, Ixon textile jacket $320, alpine gloves $180 and some bone dry boots for $180
Motor cross armour under jeans for about $25.00

Any opinions if thats that decent gear worth while purchasing

Welcome aboard and happy travels.

P.s. another (blindingly obvious) hint is that you don't bring your bike along to the pre-learners. I've never heard of it happening, but as the saying goes there's always a first time for everything!
