The mighty ZRX1200S will sort you out good and proper
Oddly enough Rich, when seiko's wife adandoned her hubbies ZX14, it was for the palatial expanse of the mighty Rexess!!!!!! I don't think it was the seat or peg distance which made her eventually get off, more the terrain!!! (I pillioned her down Reefton playing no brakes to keep it fun!!! )

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

It's a psycological thing that makes her feel safe
Feel safe with you...................
Mate, you of all people shouldn't be making comments like that!!!! I'm pretty sure from memory, that I made it down the Reefton WITHOUT crashing??????? If it were me making the decision on who to get on the back with.....1.The guy who made it down the Reefton.....or 2. The guy who crashed on the Reefton.........I know which one I'd choose!!!!!!

Reading your initial statement i too traded up from a 2007 Triumph ST 1050 and looked at loads of machines before deciding in the ZX14 Special. This bikes a must just stick a set of Yoshi's , a power commander 5 and a K&N air filter and the thing is mental, i thought i had the grin factor with the Triumph but mate this machine makes you grin like a cheshire cat. Have to say though i did not concider the wife in this purchase, yes she rides (SV 650) and she does go on the back but as long as you dont buy her an intercom you wont get any knagging untill you arrive at your destination. As for pillion comfort she wont have time to worry about comfort she'll be more concerned hanging on !!!!!!
the 14 is very comfy for both pillion and pilot. I used to ride a VFR (not a bad ride itself for passenger) and the missus like the 14 a lot more.
The seat is excellent, maybe legroom a little limited, could be a problem for tall pillions but otherwise no worries.
The 14 is so comfy that she dozes now and then, gotta (gently) headbutt her to wake her up, she almost fell asleep on me once and I almost lost her (scary moment)!
last year i done 900km in one day on my zx14. and i have only one uncomfortable moment - 700km rain
rest was good, i was tired because of rain not because of distance
