It's time to buy a lotto ticket. The guy I bought it off got back to me and said there were two keys one of which was red. I had only ever seen the black key which was with the bike. I got some bits with it including a jacket I gave to the GF because it was too small for me. I just called her mum and she found the red key in the breast pocket of the jacket.

I ride way too fast to worry about cholesterol
Dude I totally feel your pain. I lost my keys (unbeknown to me at the time) and then realised "Oh sheeeeeeeeeet" when i went to go out later that night! I searched High and freakin low, roped the housemate and old guy downstairs to help look (had a spare) but though if someone found my key and wanted to steal the bike, it'd be like giving them the service history and all the log books. Turns out I dropped it on the grass between the carpark and my apartment and one of the kids who rides a KTM next door found it and slipped it under my front door with a post-it on the door telling me where it was. In my panic and and rush I didnt see the post-it or the key!!!!! Worst 2 hours of my life!
Pink on the outside, but still green on the inside!
Aussie Ninja wrote:Still looking. Found the email addy of the guy I bought it off, so I'm hoping he still uses it. The bike was from Perth so I'm ringing the four dealers there today to see what I can find out. The Official word from Kawasaki is $2500 for a new ECU, red key, two blacks and a locksmith to pull the ignition barrel and cut the keys to suit.
$700-$800 for a new Ignition Barrel with Red and 2black keys. $70 for a Kawa dealer to Code the new Red key to your current ECU. How do I know this, bought a crashed ZX10 with a smashed barrel (wreckers) and got it going. Now the tricky part is i'm not to sure if they need your Original Red key to get your ECU coded to the new barrel and keys. The hassel with getting a new ignition barrel and keys is that you have to provide ownership papers of the bike before ordering your new barrel and keys.
As for your seat lock and tank cap - take them into any locksmith and they'll work their magic. Hope it helps bro.

Q&A Time,
Q - Do I need a Steering Damper.
A - What is that........ a special kinda bread or sumthing!
Q - My bars shake when I hit a bump in the road.
A - Do what i do.........HANG ON TIGHTER!
New keys on order. I've got her booked in on Monday to have two new keys programmed in. This will erase the old key so if anyone did somehow get back to the bike with it, it wouldn't start the bike. Then big red is going in a safe.
