Vale Arthur Lincoln.

Post by MadKaw »

I read this morning Arthur Lincoln had passed away.
Anyone who has raced or been doing track days for a while will know Arthur as he has been a regular at most events.
We met Arthur many years ago and regularly chatted at most track days and race meetings we attended. He was a great bloke, always happy and always had time to chat to my wife and muck around and joke with my kids.
A true gentelman.
He will be a great loss to the motorcycle community.
My thoughts and best wishes to his family.

From FX site

Vale Arthur Lincoln
One of life's few gentlemen Arthur Lincoln passed away recently after spending a short period in hospital with an unknown illness.
Anyone who raced at a road race event in New South Wales in the last ten plus odd years would have meet Arthur as he and his daughter Tish were always in attendance as scrutineers.
I suspect Arthur had been around the sport for a very long time. But I'm afraid to say I don't know how long Arthur had been a scrutineer for but having been in the sport myself for about 12 plus years I always seem to remember Arthur being around helping out with his customary signature big smile on his face and his cheerful disposition. Always a very pleasant and helpful man who did more than his fair share to keep motorcycle racing on track and happening as the numbers of volunteer officials has reduced over recent years.
I believe all of us who have either raced or been involved in racing in New South Wales owe a very big thank you to this man for what he has done over a long period of time to support the sport as a volunteer.
As soon as I find out details about his funeral I will post them up on this website.
As a mark of respect for Arthur we will have a minutes silence to mark his passing at the up coming FX-TT final at Wakefield Park Raceway on the 27th September just before the first Formula Xtreme race on Sunday.
Our sincere condolences at this time go out to his family and friends, especially his daughter Tish who always was there with her father.

Regards,
Terry O'Neill

Funeral for Arthur Lincoln, will be held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park on the Camden Valley Way at Leppington.
The service will start at 11.30am this Saturday the 19th of September 2009. Afterwards, all are welcome to gather at the Crossroads Hotel which is not far from the cemetery.
