Lascorz Confirmed For Second Kawasaki Season And Goes Third On Points
WSS, Nürburgring, Germany, 7 September 2009
Joan Lascorz secured a fine podium to take him to third place in the overall championship standings at the Nürburgring on Sunday.
Lascorz Confirmed For Second Kawasaki Season And Goes Third On Points
His latest on-track success came shortly after his team had taken the opportunity to confirm that he will race in official Kawasaki colours once again next year.

Lascorz’s signature for Kawasaki Provec Motocard.com extends a partnership that has already provided strong results, and promises even greater things in the future.

In the 19-lap Nürburgring race Lascorz made a good start and kept up a high pace throughout on his Ninja ZX-6R, pressurising Eugene Laverty in the final lap and missing out on second place by only 0.141 seconds. The 16 points Lascorz earned in Germany leave him in third place in the championship chase, ten points clear of Kenan Sofuoglu with three rounds to go.

Katsuaki Fujiwara was also challenging in the top places until he fell on lap six, while pushing hard to keep his fifth position. Katsuaki is now 11th in the championship.

The next round is at Imola, on September 27.

Joan Lascorz: “It was a good race, I was comfortable behind Laverty and thought I could pass him. But when I pushed hard to pass under braking it proved difficult to get by. I went into third position in the championship and that was our intention today. Now I want to go to Imola and move forward again.”

Katsuaki Fujiwara: “I just lost the front on the entry to the chicane, pushing hard to try and get back into the leading positions. I was just pushing hard, that was all. I still have high motivation and cannot wait for Imola next time out.”

Awesome news. Sign up Leon Camier, Simon Andrews or Josh Waters alongside him would be nice.
Ah, computer dating. It's like pimping but you rarely have to use the phrase "upside your head" - Bender Bending Rodríguez
