Who'd be a police motorcyclist ??
WARNING: some may find the videos distressing or upsetting
There are two videos, and it’s worth watching them in the order below
In the first video there was some sort of a nasty crash on a motorway somewhere in the Netherlands
And the media or News people were there, and filming the emergency services etc and the ambulances leaving, when all hell seems to break loose across the other side of the motorway
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfTR90n4Hd8
As for what it was that happened across the other side of the road, its, well, just watch it as words can’t really explain it

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Re: Who'd be a police motorcyclist ??
that was not good to watch, person in the yellow car obviously was not concentrating on the road, and certainly looked unable to make any meaningful manouvre to avoid the accident...
having said all that, i did think it weird that the copper parked himself in that position in the lane...

if ever there was proof positive that Hi-Vis is not the answer to being seen on the road - you just saw it right there....

weird place to stop...
but on a side note. i was taught as soon as i started driving to look 10 cars ahead. not at the car infront so much. and as the yellow car didnt even brake, either did the 2 cars behind, even though the truck changed lanes etc.

Stevey Wonder got his lisence?
WTF? He had ample distance and time to have seen that coppa in the lane.
Corey wants to be a Bike Cop I think but our sirens aren't annoying enough to have people trying to run
you over because of them

Re: Who'd be a police motorcyclist ??
Trouble is drivers end up watching what is happening at the crash scene or whatever and forget to watch the road.
I do some part-time work as a traffic controller. A couple of weeks ago a B double nearly ran over me and a car I had stopped. He had about 1k sight distance but was watching the road workers and not the road. He ended up stopping in a cloud of tyre smoke past where I was standing and if the car and I didn't get out of his way...well I hate to think...

GOd rest his soul, but in reality, it was not a well thought out position to occupy, regardless of his intent.

Re: Who'd be a police motorcyclist ??
He is blocking a lane to allow the ambulance easy access to the motorway. It wouldn't have made a difference if he was on a bike or in a car, the yellow motorist just isn't paying attention. There is no criticism as to what the officer was doing. Traffic control on a motorway is extremely dangerous in any situation.
As for wishing him a speedy recovery, i'd be surprised if he lived from that impact. Poor bugger.

I hope the driver of the yellow car has the full weight of the law thrown at him.
We can only speculate as to why he did not stop but his attention was obviously not where it should have been.
