 Shit mate, sorry to hear of this and so soon after buying it. Good thing you know someone who can sort the repair and keep the cost down. So was the rear tyre flat after all or is a 14 just too big to lift the front wheel?

Sunnies and dark visor?..Not a good mix. Most sunnies have polorised lenses as do visors to some extent, this can give a distorted look,,

In my opinion, the road had fuck all to do with it. Steve should post some pics of his rear tyre. It tells a different story. The guy he bought the bike off must have ridden down one straight street every time he rode it, as the biggest lean angle the bike had prior to Steve getting it, was on the side stand!!!! The thing looks like a billiard table. No wonder the bike wobbled while on it's back legs! Ask anyone who is able to Hoist a Minging stand, a square or even worn back tyre plays merry hell while on the back wheel!

Mal and I rode through all the same stuff which Steve did, at a reasonable pace. I didn't have my glasses on (I don;t wear them on the bike...it makes me see all the little things and freaks me out...I'd rather just ride through it, let the bike walk around a little, then just get back on with things) so I couldn't see the gravel, plus I had a dark visor on also. We never encountered any issues. I bet had Steve replaced that rear tyre prior to going on the ride we wouldn't now be talking about this stuff.

To Steve's credit, he managed to minimise any real damage through some pretty skilled bail out manoevres. The repair is a simple one thankfully and knowing the run off areas up there, it could have been far worse. I was also pretty impressed with Steve's attitude to it all. It shows that the persona he presents on here is him through and through. He was very cool and accepting and didn't let it bother him. He carried on riding like it had never happened. 8)

I was just glad to hear the sound of the 14 burbling around the last bend at the bottom of the spur. :) I didn't let on to his wife, but, when a bike doesn't arrive as scheduled, it sets off the alarm bells. I was starting to get a little worried. So all in all, a couple of scratched panels, one decal, a lever blade and a bar end made me happy!

Welcome to the club dude! Not the greatest club to be a part of, but none the less! Glad to hear you're okay though. Any prang/off is a good enough excuse for some bling :) Good to hear its all cosmetic though!

Bugger mate!

I think the real reason for the crash was the upset aerodynamics caused by the farking great big reflectors on the forks.....and yes I'm going to keep giving you shit about them until they are gone :kuda:

Offs always suck, but after you're bike's gotten a few scratches, it gives you an excuse to just flog the fuck out of it. ;)

Crying about it would not change the fact that she's scratched up like Freddy Krugers girlfriend :D
I look at how much fun it was getting onto the ground, not the actually being on the ground bit
