Can any of you Z appreciating types tell me if the disc brake rear hubs for the wire wheels have 36 or 40 spokes please?
If they have 40, does anyone have one for sale?
Thanx in advance.

Re: Question for the Zedophiles
that'd be 40-spoke rear hubs there kwak addict
Unfortunately I don't have a spare one for sale, but US ebay is your friend - these come up pretty regularly, sometimes just the bare hub, sometimes a complete rear wheel.
Disc brake spoke hubs were only available on the Z1000A1-A2 (1977-78) to the best of my knowledge (at least in Oz - the US markets had all sorts of odd models - custom bikes with spoked 16" rear rims, that sort of thing, into the 80 and 81 years....perhaps even later.)

Re: Question for the Zedophiles
good pickup for $110 !!
- those spokes look like they will need a good clean-up though....but the rim looks in good nick.
Its worth putting in new wheel bearings as well, the existing ones are probably the original ones...
and, if you want to knock a bit of weight off that disc (cause they are heavy m'f discs) - they can be drilled - or you could source a disc from a later model Z1000MkII or Z1R MkII. Same bolt pattern, but lighter (drilled) discs. It will all depend on the application you have in mind....
ebay is a great place to source bits like this....
