supersport on p's!!!

Post by Hugo :o) »

Hey guys,
im on my L's and live in NSW.
Just like to know exactly how the law works in regards to riding a ninja 600 on your provisionals. Do you get a warning, or is it automatic loss of liscence?
PS: Please dont reply back telling me how irresponsible i am. Yes, i know i know, its very dangerous and i am inexperienced. its just a question i'd like to get to the bottom of.

Thanx

For a start you will have no insurance & thats a biggie, you would cop a fine & loss of points if caught........I am sure you can look up the values ;)

Not sure exactly re the penalties but it'll be unlicensed (for that type of vehicle) and uninsured( for that type of vehicle) at least. I'm pretty sure there'll be points and thus probably a license lose. You can check the RTA site re points for the penalties

That's the best bit though. Remember that if you have a stack and injure someone your Compulsory Third Party cover is invalid. Therefore if you stick someone in a wheelchair you'll pay for them for the rest of their life, thus ruining yours as well. The problem is you probably don't have a few million to look after them properly so they'll be totally screwed, but hey you know you're irresponsible so that makes it all OK......

Good luck

I just looked it up and I'm actually disgusted at how lenient the penalty is, considering it is effectively the same as being unlicensed.

No, I'm not, Rob.
If anyone is stupid enough to be considering this, they can bloody well look it up themselves. I'm definitely not going to help them.

And if they show up on a ride I'm on with a bike that is unregistered, or they're unlicensed for, they'll get some help of another kind

I'm pretty sure in NSW riding a bike outside of your restrictions is automatic licence loss.

I've done it (only a short while) so I'm not gonna say how stupid it is, but take into consideration the penalties if you get caught and dont go whinging if you do get picked up.

i know what it is, and i agree with cath. dont know how many points we get on our p's but its enough. Also i will say the fine is over $400 and under $500.
Yes the fine isnt harsh enough. I do not agree with the lams rules but i think as other people have done the time on a lams bike we all should do the same. Yes you can kill yourself the same. But to be hoenst FARk IT just do the time. 8)

well there you go, its 4 points anyway. wasnt too sure. Who cares if they want to do that shit. let them do it. just dont do that shit around were it indangers someone else. Hate seeing road deaths on tv, as a result of dickhead drivers and riders.
