Workshops putting stickers on your ride
What do you think of shops that put advertising stickers on your bike when you get them serviced?
When we get the car serviced, they often put a small sticker on the top corner of the windscreen, with advertising facing out and info on next oil change, etc facing in. It's never really bothered me at all.
Today I got my bike serviced at a new place and now there's a little sticker sitting on my chain guard...
I just thought I'd see what other people think about this practice.

mmmm i think i know who your talkin about.
yeah ask him for a stack of stickers to hand out to your mates Cath!
Rob will love one i'm sure
i once went to pedders for a safety check on my car, )which i had lowered and "wheeled" myself. and they liked the look of it and stuck their stickers on it and wanted to take a pic for their website. (right after telling me i was an idiot for fitting springs and swaybars myself.)
i tole em to feck off, and ripped off the sticker and left it on the ground in their carpark
but if Aitkens wanted to chack a sticker on my bike somewhere like the chainguard after the worked some magic, im all for it

If they had done a good job and price was right I'd happily stick it on somewhere of my own choosing...

Re: Workshops putting stickers on your ride
I think they should check first but if they look after you well I have no problem with it. The ones that you have no history with or that charge you an arm and a leg and then put a sticker on without asking piss me off. I would have no problem putting a small Aitken's sticker on my bike if they asked me to as they do look after KSRC members and it's the least we could do in return.

Re: Workshops putting stickers on your ride
If it can easily be removed, then I wouldn't be too worried if it were added to my bike......but if it was one of those bastard-stickers-from-hell that you find on DVD covers at JB HiFi !!!
that would piss me right off.....

if they ask first then cool
if they dont then, not cool and I make of point ripping it off and giving it back to them!!!
Had the same as Wattie from Penrith Suspension Wholesalers when I fitted out my old commodore as a youngster and they just fitted the 2 front shocks, geez I fired up

Re: Workshops putting stickers on your ride
DONT GET ME STARTED!!!!!!!! THis stuff &#@($^ me off big time! I demanded a new car boot once because dealership decided to "brand" the boot lid on my brand new car!!
My old flatmate owned a Kawasaki workshop.....I took my Honda there once because I trusted his mechanic.......he also knew my view on this matter......I was pulling his dealership stickers off my bike for the next 2 years!!! 27 all up in total and he reckons I didn't find all of them!!! That was kinda funny
And Cath I know the sticker you're talking about - you see them allover Sydney.....on most bikes they normally put it just above or below the numberplate - ugly little stickers too....actually, they aren't that little either!

Re: Workshops putting stickers on your ride
i am totally against it, if i wanted the sticker there, i will put it where i want. They are not paying to me advertise there business, i pay for a service, thats all i want. On top of that, i am very selective about what brands i want to put on my vehicles, i often only like the clean skin look, which is why i like many Kawasaki paint schemes!

Re: Workshops putting stickers on your ride
if you have somewhat of a relationship with the place then sure why not? But if you take your bike or car to a new place and they brand you, it really pisses me off.
Not as much as some places that plastic solder rego plate covers on without asking !

Re: Workshops putting stickers on your ride
First mod I did on the Crim was remove the dealer sticker from the front mudguard when I got home. Fiddly little things they are too.
