Re: Insurance WTF
could it be that the 09 has extra safety/security features.
also, statistically, the 09 wouldnt have been crashed as often as an 07, but that shouldnt count

Re: Insurance WTF
the 07 model, had been out for a bit, people had crashed them and they's paid claims etc.
so it may have been considered high risk.
the 09, being only new, they cant go out and say its high risk without data.
maybe it will go up next year when a few people make claims?
my old man bought a isuzu dmax ute. when he insured it, it wasnt on their system yet. so he got it insured real cheap, because it didnt have a rating yet. the second year it went up.

The Hornet was brand new when I got it, and not worth as much as a 09 ZX-6R even then, but I pay less than $400/year.
I'm guessing this is because it has less plastic, I'm an old bastard and it's a Honda.

I pay $1032 for the ZRX @ 21 years with maximum no claim and no licence losses.
The cheapest quote for full comp on the R6 (2000 model, $7k value) was $3200 - f@%* that!

Re: Insurance WTF
yeah. WQBE wanted like $6000 to insure me...
NRMA turned out to be the cheapest. mind you, I have a pretty poor driving record, licence suspended etc, so its not a real surprise.
only reason I have the full comp now is to satisfy the bank that fronted me cash to buy the thing. Just in case it gets written off or something...
