If you are serious about going.... I suggest you book your ferry & accomodation NOW ;)
The visit to the island is an experience of a lifetime. An awesome atmosphere, and having a bike rattle past you at warp speed about 1 Metre away literally takes your breath away.
If going on a bike don't try and emulate the racers ;)
Mad Sunday is called it for a reason !
It's been a few years since we went but although there used to be no speed limits on the island - you can still get booked, at the Policeman's discretion he may just book you with "driving without due care & consideration" an offence which carries far greater penalties than mere speeding
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
