Great write up and pics Hype.
I have also been looking at the IXIL slip ons for my '09 Z1000, as the stocks are just too bloody quiet! Can I ask what the single pipe set you back, and who did you source them through?

Very nice.
tops write-up, loved the detailed shots there.
looks as though the no baffle scares even inatimate objects such as your allen key..

hmmm.... for me, I actually left the servo cabling behind and tuck it right beside where my air box is.... according to my "manufacturer" instructions.... having said that, If I can do it again or have time, i might just remove the whole cables...
Guess two options for the servo cabling, either remove it entirely or remove it at the exhaust section and tuck it somewhere (for me that's around the air box area)....

esie if you do get a pipe , try to get them to send the order as 2 seperate pieces as if its more than $1000 the tax man will have you. he put an extra $ 250 odd on my system. good luck

Mate great looking bike. I have the IXIL twin system on my 08 Z1000 and run them with none of the baffles. Sounds great. Have been told by Peter Stevens in Melbourne that the bike is running too lean and need to get a PC 3 or 5 to fix. might be worth checkin out! I can recommend these pipes to anyone.

Dude, go by yourself a long ass drill bit, half or maybe 3/4 inch, poke it into your stock pipes and drill for gold through those baffle plates,,
stick a vacumm in the, hoover out the shavings, and HEY PRESTO! louder stock pipes.
cost you $10 at bunnings.
easy
