Valve adjustment GPX250

Post by eyles50 »

GPX Gurus

The valves on my GPX250 are due for adjustment. Will a normal feeler guage be satisfactory or is it necessary to buy the factory special tool. Any advice gratefully accepted especially on how to do the job. Also how long should I expect the cam chain to last - bike has 40,000km so far?

Cheers :D :D

I don't have any GPX250 experience but this might be a good place to look http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_do_I_a ... _valves%3F

The factory tool for these definitely makes life easier - The T handle with the screw driver down the guts, not the go / no go guage feeler guages are fine. The Tool can be had from a Kawasaki dealer for about $80 from memory. Short of that a good quality 9mm open ender and a carby screwdriver will do the job if you are patient.
I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.
