Re: What's your ultimate riding music
When I was young and stupid I used to wear headphones... Then one day I nearly crashed into a fully armoured military tank (in europe).... a guy with an M60 Rambo gun pointed his barell at me until I was able to remove my helmet and headphones (Metallica, Master of puppets) and he kindly explained to me in a very loud voice that I was in a (I am paraphrasing) active F*cking military f*cking practise f*cking ground and I should have f*cking stopped at the last f*cking barrier with the flashing f*cking lights because they are using live f*cking ammo today. (This story was dramatised only about 10% believe it or not). Havent worn headphones since...
The world is round. It has no point.

I used to wear headphones and listen to talkback radio on the way to work from Berwick > Melb CBD.
I used to find the absolute nonsense used to center me as I lane split for 50km.
But I'd rather listen to the bike now, as I dont do that much lane splitting

Re: What's your ultimate riding music
Generally it was a mix of, ACDC, Angels, Thoroughgood, CCR, all the old 70's rock stuff like Daddy Cool, Neil Young, Zep, JJ Cale, Doors, Inxs etc etc etc. Some of those songs were good/bad for firing up the part of the brain that controls the throttle
I tried listening to music for a while when I was travelling 100 - 150kms each way to meet up for ksrc rides down southern qld when we had 2 or 3 going on weekly, but after meeting up I wouldn’t have it on as I needed all my wits not to used as a mobile chicane.
Anyway the buds hurt after a while and would not stay in place and I tried many, I also found I was going too fast at times unknowingly being carried away with ACDC and such and was not concentrating as much on what I was doing.
After getting to many of those sudden snap out of it "ooh that could have been bad" close moments I stopped listening to music all together, yeah, so that became a safety issue to me.
However saying that I probably would listen to music on ultra long straight hauls away from the city and cage drivers.

Re: What's your ultimate riding music
If i did it would probably be something like radiohead to try and calm me down! I already ride stupid enough and if ilisten to music that psyches me up i would ride like a complete lunatic lol!
Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ...Holy shit...What a ride!
