my insurance problem :(

Post by timmyrocks »

for those of you that dont know, i wrote my honda cbr600rr 07 model off just over 1 month ago.
i have full insurance and there policy is 2 year new for old (swann).

now the assessors have looked at it and written it off, so im up for a new bike as a replacment. i told them kawasaki zx6r is my choice, they got back to me and under the policy its new for old of the same bike and apoligised for the situation but they cannot make an exemption, they offered me $13000 (thats less the excess ;) )cash to go and buy a kwaka or a 2009 cbr600rr.

now my problem is i want a kwaka :P. so im seriously comtemplating thking the 13large and looking for an earlier model zx6 and poketing the rest and banking it as im currently TRYING to save for a house :P :P :P.

either that or look for a z750 as they have tickled my fancy for a while now, but i do like the 6's so i have a little problem lolz.

any suggestions or pointers in this matter :) :)

cheers Tim

Mine is the MY09 with a Dec 08 build date. I think the only difference between the 07/08 and 09 is the colour scheme.

I did have a 600, the 06 Suzuki GSXR600. A very different bike. I've got Hypes 04 CBR600rr for the track now  so I have the best of both worlds ;) I get to enjoy the instant "grunt" of the Zed and I can still have some sportsbike fun. For me the Zed is a bike I can do long distances on without the 'pain' of the sportsbike. I havent had a chance to "push" it yet but with Superbike School in 1.5weeks I'll have a good chance to then!

Be prepared, if you want one make sure you save a few bucks and see Zeno to get the suspension done or you'll be riding a pogo stick. Oh, and you'll need an aftermarket pipe :kuda:

Have a test ride of the Zed and you'll fall in love. Alto's at Chatswood are pretty forthcomming with test rides but chat to Aitkens for purchasing - they do a good deal!
