XOVS
OVAL XTREM BLACK

Technical information:

Reference: OK7071VXS
Material: AISI304 Stainless steel
Shape: Oval (125x100mm)
Total length: 367 mm.
Weight: 1,9 Kg.
Type approval: CE e9 97/24
Removable dB-reducer system

Note:
The main requirement is the removal of the Exhaust servo cabling.
If you are running the OEM-ECU, you should NOT remove/disconnect the Servo itself.
By removing ONLY the cables, the servo will continue to operate/exist via the ECU.

The following is a brief 'How to'

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

1st step:

You will see two (2) cables running from the backside of the OEM silencer, running upward behind the RHS heel guard and past the mono-shock.

Take an 8mm & 10mm spanner and loosen (release tension) the adjustment points of the cables.

Image

Image

2ns step:

Remove the cover panels on the LHS of the bike.
You will need a 6mm & 4mm Allen key.

Image

Image

3rd step:

Locate the Exhaust Valve Servo rotor

Image
Image
Image

- Remove cables using a pair of needle nose pliers.

Image
Image

- route/feed the cables through to the exhaust point and pull them out.

Image
Image

4th step:

Now all you need to do is unbolt the silencer and remove it from the bike.
There are three (3) points - 2 x bolts & 1x Jubilee clamp
Pillion Peg bracket / Lower Frame / Mid-pipe

Image
Image

after you've removed the mounting points and loosened the clamp you should be
able to freely remove the OEM silencer (with the valve & cables attached)

Image
Image

5th step:

Follow the specific installation instructions provided by the Manufacturer
of the new silencer you've purchased. Repeat mounting points, and refit body panels.

You're done!

Here are some before & after pics of the Z750.
The IXIL pipe weighs significantly less @ 1.9kg
sounds great and looks more appealing.

Tried with both baffles and decided the half was just the right pitch without the migraines on a long ride. And i guess it's only a matter of 6 hex bolts to remove it for the track.

Quality of the IXIL systems are quite good, materials & build are as good as any well branded. Reasonably priced as well.. so i would recommend them to anyone looking to ditch the stocker.

thats a really good write up. Very nice looking Z you have too. I reckon the pipe looks pretty good without the baffle on at all.

.....Or the slightly more simplified step by step.....

Step 1 - go away with the girls for a weekend for your birthday

Step 2 - remote log on to KSRC and find your bike has a new pipe!!!

LOVE IT! Looking forward to FINALLY taking him out for a spin next weekend!

it works i guess... she let's me keep the garage... and doesn't even yell at me for storing parts in the lounge room... I bring home stuff and try to fool her into believing it's yard equipment... we have a spare room each (funnily enough they're both equally as messy and full of crap)

in short bike-chics rawk!
