Looks like they were racing and hit her and left her on the road. Doesn't say anything about either of them kicking the poor woman.

OK, I was thinking what a gutless piece of shit this guy is until I came accross this.
If I had to "come out" because I hit someone, I think I would just keep riding on myself

.......A distinctive grey and black carbon fibre indicator lens, a broken clutch lever and a fairing tip were found on the road by investigators.........

Lens (noun) - 1. transparent piece of glass for focusing (Encarta)

not only would it not indicate shit, but i wouldn't have thought carbon fibre blinkers were so very rare.

.....Bikers leave frail old lady for dead in Preston.....when a frail old lady was struck and left for dead.....described Mrs Stafford as a sweet, frail woman.....render assistance to a frail lady. There's nothing of her. She's just a little old lady.....

she's 69 for fuck sake, not 99. my grandmother is 92 and she still walks around and plays lawn bowls. who gives a shit if she's 69.

.....Cousin Sue Moors described Mrs Stafford as a sweet, frail woman. She said Ms Stafford loved walking .....There's nothing of her. She's just a little old lady......

if she is soooo frail, how can she love walking so much? wouldn't her frail little chalky boned legs not be able to support her while jaywalking to see her supplier?

the media really is fucked! i don't condone in the slightest the actions of the rider, in fact i think its a bit of a dog act, but for the media to play on the whole "she's so old and frail and innocent" thing for the publics benefit is just wrong. I like the way they use the term "bikers" too.

Oh, and ......Images released of the make and model of the motorcycle, a dark blue 2002 Yamaha R1, could also help police close in on the person believed responsible for a hit-run.....

gee, its a good thing the Yamaha Commodore is so rare, otherwise the cops might have a hard time tracking it down. So now i'm going to interpret the story as i see fit, just like the media

The REAL story of the hit-run

Post by Nosferatu »

Frail old ladies leave Biker for dead in Preston

UPDATE 4.45pm: PARTS of a walking frame left after a deadly hit-run in Melbourne's outer east could hold the key to netting the suspect.
Images released of the make and model of the walking frames, a dark blue 2002 Superwalker 2000, could also help police close in on the person believed responsible for a hit-run that left a biker in a critical condition at the weekend.

Mr Stafford, 9, was on life-support after a second emergency surgery operation today, after he was hit by one of the frail old ladies which were believed to be speeding off their nut.

Investigators claimed the frail old ladies had been pushing their walking frames side-by-side, when they hit Mr Stafford and left him lying on Plenty Rd, Preston just after midday on Sunday.

CCTV footage shows the two bikes travelling north on Springvale Rd shortly before the incident.

"`This frail old lady is gettable,'' acting Sen Sgt Brad Peters said.

"We think there is every chance she could be injured, either a hand or leg injury and if she doesn't hand herself in somebody out there will give her up.’’

A distinctive grey and black carbon fibre indicator lens, a broken clutch lever and a fairing tip were found on the road by investigators.

“These are quite obviously heavily customised walking frames capable of high speeds.” Said Snr Sgt Brad Peters.

Earlier police said they believed the two frail old ladies were racing each other when a biker was struck and left for dead, police say.

Police are hunting two speed demons, riding side-by-side, who left him lying in Plenty Rd, Preston, yesterday.

Mr Stafford, the eldest of 10, was hit soon after midday by the 1000cc blue Superwalker.
Cousin Sue Moors described Mr Stafford as a sweet, frail biker. She said Mr Stafford loved bikering and was an identity in Preston, a suburb he had barely left his entire life.
"It's unthinkable,'' she said. "How could anyone possibly do that. I can't believe someone wouldn't stop and render assistance to a frail biker. There's nothing of him. He's just a little old bikie.
"He never drank or smoked in his life (not much, anyway). He's never hurt a fly, except the millions he smashed to pieces on his visor and windshield. I can't understand how this could happen.''
Ms Moors said the walking framers should come forward and tell police what happened.
They were heading north when Mr Stafford was hit.
Investigators believe the bikie tried to take evasive action, but neither frail old lady stopped to help the badly injured bikie.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital suffering injuries to his upper body and a fractured leg.
Both frail old ladies continued north, turning left into Wood St. The walker that hit Mr Stafford lost an indicator and sustained damage to a clutch lever, mirror and to its fairing.
Witnesses told police the frail old ladies were shooting up and racing shortly before the accident.
"There is some evidence at this stage that indicates potential bad walking on the part of the two frail old ladies,'' Sen-Sgt Brad Peters said. "We believe there's a possibility they were shooting up and racing with each other.
"Once again, it's outrageous conduct on the roads, especially during the Easter period.''
Sen-Sgt Peters said he was certain the frail old lady who hit Mr Stafford would know what she had done.
"It's extremely callous someone would mow a bikie down and leave the scene of the crash, leave somebody on the road to potentially die or be at the mercy of the injuries suffered,'' he said.
"Somebody will know who the driver of this walking frame is, purely from the damage on the frame. Somebody will know what's happened here.
"We're appealing for the operator of the walking frame to come forward. We will find you. It's a matter of time before we track you down.''
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Yes, it's night shift, and I'm VERY bored :kuda: :kuda: :kuda:

I must admit, i am pretty surprised at many attitudes to this..... there would have been blue murder called had someone in a car reversed into a bike and knocked it over.... let alone hitting someone on a bike and driving off...... the world would have been against the motorcycling community .... However a person has been left with serious injuries, potentially life ending.... and fore some F&&ked up reason ppl here have decided to cite it as a load of crap etc etc....Although the media without a doubt sensationalise things... the person has been put before the courts.... I would suggest that there would be evidence supporting the police version of events....

Personally, if the tard hit someone and did a runner, i hope he gets locked up for a bloody long time.... i don't care what reason caused the collision, she could have played chicken with him and launched herself at him for all I care, it does not change the issue that the person left the scene of a serious accident. If you had nothing to hide, then why run........
