main jets??

Post by kevindinho »

Hi all

What are main jets? and what are the correct sizes for main jets in the ZXR250? i was on the phone before and the guy @ bikebiz told me that my bikes problems could be the cause of a incorrect main jet size? my bikes being running really rich and just refusing to go after riding for 30min or so and the spark plugs keep flooding quite regularly.

Cheers!
Kev

here is a link to pics of the innards of a carby.

For the click apathetic, here is the relevant picture from that page

As to the sizes, i'm not sure, there's been mention on here in previous posts about carby's though.

From the article Which is good) ...
the Keihin CVK40 found on many Kawasaki motorcycles (KLR's and Vulcans) along with some Harleys. If you need replacement parts you'd be well advised to get them from your local Harley Davidson outlet. They will be less expensive than ordering through your Kawasaki dealer and, in most cases they will be 'in stock'.
Really ? :?

Well many model carbies are shared across various bike models. The only things that may vary are the needles/jets used.
