ZRX1200 baseline power

Installing pipe, pods, and a jet kit soon so I thought I'd go get a baseline power and A/F dyno run.

This is what I got with a basically stock (4deg timing advancer only) 2002 ZRX1200 running on Caltex 95. Fuelling looks a bit out but that's all going to change anyways. Once the mods are done I'll get it retested on the same dyno as a comparison. Might get them to output the torque next time too :roll: . Keep you posted.

Torque is where it's at should be as flat as a slate top pool table.

Righto, well I got the mods done over the weekend and went and got it dyno'd yeterday. Asked for the the torque this time, but alas, op says he can't get it to output :roll: The A/F module is also broken so I can't even get that. So I just end up doing a power run as a comparison (same dyno, same operator, but conditions are better). The results are suprising :twisted: I will be going to another dyno soon to get the A/F checked, it'll be interesting to see what that dyno reads.

So what do you think?

Comp baffle, but I have added extra baffle (2' ID) so it now extends to the first weld from the end of the pipe. I have also repacked the entire length with fresh material.

Yeah, I was suprised by the large increase low down. Jet kit was Ivans' jet kit for pods, and the pods are APE racing ones.

Well it's booked in with alex (LAE) next week to check out the A/F and torque. I'll post up the graphs when I get 'em.

Not a bad reading, same sort of ballpark as most of the 12's with pods & stg III.

I have 120 with the std airbox and stg I with no advancer on a "conservative" dyno (dyno dynamics). But as we all know its not the HP we are most interested in - it is the plateau of torque we all love :kuda:

Nice results. Mine is pushing out 129RWHP or 95kw and 115nm or 85ftp.
Has full Muzzy system and Muzzy stage 3 jet kit with pods and Ignition advancer.
If you add cams you can get to the high 140. But as Phil said its not the power but the huge torque curve and plateau. :kuda:

Yeah they were pretty weighty, but the kerker isn't exactly light either.

I would really like to know how my torque looks. The power curve didn't really have and big dips, so it should be fairly smooth. I guess I'll find out next week.

I think this will be the extent of my engine mods. It's not like she didn't have the go already, and this was more about getting a full exhaust and jetting to suit.

Once you start putting cams in you might as well go the whole hog and get the big bore kit and the rest. Maybe once my engine starts getting old I'll consider these sorts of mods :twisted: , but for now I think it's more than enough fun. :kuda:

Well just for shits and giggles I did a calculation from power to torque and this is what I got.

A peak torque of 96 ft.lbs :shock: Somehow I don't think this is realistic :roll: , even though this is the same method used to calculate the actual torque graphs. Be interesting to compare this to the measured one next week.
