If you go here:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downloads/most.pdf
it tells you exactly what you have to do.
Having done this not so long ago (and freaked out about it, although I rode road/dirt for MANY years in pre-historical times, but hadn't ridden AT ALL for 25 years) I can tell you it's not that hard, because you start at 8.30am and do the test at ,like, 4pm, and the rest of the day has been spent PRACTISING EVERYTHING you will be asked to do in the test and being coached by people who REALLY CARE about you staying upright and therefore, alive. If you're in the Hills, make a booking at Rouse Hill. I did my learners and licence test there, and these are some of the NICEST, MOST committed to keeping you alive people you will ever meet. Plus the road ride is much less stressfull in this area.
The actual test takes 5 to 7 minutes. At the end of an 8 hr practice session.
All my group passed, the only one who came close to failing was on a Hyongsung GTR250 which didn't have the turning circle to make the U-turn, he physically couldn't turn turn the bike in that space. Apparently.
Run a tape across the street where you live.Allow for the difference and do it in your street. Forget about the cone weave, they'll run you through it, just practise imaginary slow speed cone weaves. As long as you are a competent, feet up rider with a feel for the lo-speed ability(engine-wise) of your bike, you will pass. If you don't pass, you really shouldn't be out there on a bike.
Of course, all of this low speed stuff means little when you get into the real world.......

Now THAT depends... I used it quite regularly.kwakkadakka wrote:Of course, all of this low speed stuff means little when you get into the real world.......
If you're a weekend rider then perhaps you won't use it so much - but I used it a lot while commuting.
Also, anything that improves your handling skills (and slow-riding will) is good for you.

Re: M.O.S.T practise course @ homebush
Back in the 80s, the most test consisted of you being told be the RTA guy to, ride down the road, do a U turn, then stop when he put his arm up.
So much simpler back then.
O yeah, the Ls test was a 20 multiple choice test and that was it.
I luv being just that little bit older....
24 hrs on ya Ls then 1 year on ya Ps then Full licence from there on in.
All on a paper licence, with no photo.

Re: M.O.S.T practise course @ homebush
all i can say is i hate the new system. 2 years older and i could have been on my blacks 5 months ago.
apart from training courses. go out to your nearst shopping centre parking lot at night and just practice slow speed riding, do alot of clockwise circle work, and practice fast braking from a point. the weaving test doesnt really need practice coz if you cant do it by now you shouldnt be riding.
