so speaking of fuel and fuel filters i have 2 questions?

1: how long till the filter thats on the line from the tank to the carbies last for before needs replacing due to blockages or whatever?

2: whats the best fuel for a '90 GPX 250 i heard that the high octane can damage your engine because the engine was not designed to have the different combustion ratios or soemhting...

I too have a '90 GPX250, and although I don't know the answer to (1), to answer (2) I've found 95 works best for me.
I don't favour any particular brand (a lot of guys on here say to steer clear of Shell, but I stop when I need to, not when I see the servo I like).
Oh, and don't expect it to fix anything, or to go faster, or further -- I can predictably get 400K out of a tank, maybe 30K either side, before I have to turn to reserve (except for when I went with Cath and the big boys on the ride along the back streets along the river a couple of weeks ago, when the poor little tacho was sitting at 9K all day and churned through the tank), when I'm commuting, that's it 400K coming up on the trip, keep an eye/ear/wrist out for when I need to switch to reserve.

Cheers,
binther

the filters can be cleaned if your cheap had have 4 hours and a compresser bwhahahahhahahahahaha

and i change each time i fill up between 91 and 95 but my gpz250 is alittle differently setup.. when i put 98 it in it runs like shit just chokes on the fuel and gets a huge flat spot... not as much with the 95 and 91 mix...

If you haven't already, check your spark plugs. An additive in Shell fuel gums up the spark plugs, don't ask me how it happened but it did - I had it happen on my Blade after I filled it up with Shell fuel
