the new weight has gone up i believe because of a change in the way the weight is being measured... some continuing models showed a weight jump in the face of no revisions what so ever...

Maybe it is no longer dry weight they are quoting. It may be the result of a standards thing.

I reckon the weight they quote should be oiled up, but not gassed up or with a standard amount of fuel, say 10 or 15litres. That would give you a better idea. I'll expound further when I do not have so much vino on board (don't worry, the ZRX is locked up and the alarm is on).

I love the way my 05 rex looks, especially in Muzzy green and with a full Muzzy system. A new injected six-speed Rex is going to be pretty good. Strika has a point: a lighter pipe and remap would largely solve the weight and power issue. I would be dissapointed if Kawasaki fell for the Suzuki 1250 Bandit trap: more weight and less power means that the 1250 Bandit is almost an answer to a question nobody asked. Anyhow, any Rex is a keeper no matter which one ya get. Now, how can I convince the wife-accountant to let me have two Rexs? PS: does anybody have the definitive carb set-up for a Rex with Muzzy and stock airbox? I would like to avoid a lot of stuffing about. Woof.........

Well if they build it you all know we will come to the dealer and buy it.

We will then let breath after we have our hands on it.

Come on Kawasaki hurry up and send to OZ

mate, if i can find the details, i will let you know what i had on mine before it went to the gods :(

i had an 03 with a full muzzy system, k&n filter, removed the inner snorkle bits and after a rejet it was a smooth run up to 126.2hp at the wheel. quite potent! and ran 11.6 at the creek (even with my solid frame!).

i belive the 2 centre carbs went up a jet size, the outters stayed the same and the balance was adjusted. thats it.

mate, dont sweat on it. the big K sold a bucket load and there is bound to be a good one or two lying about idle when the time comes. Keep smiling, there's a Rex around the corner! :D

I wounder if the new ZRX1200 will be upgraded to 6 gears, I hope so, I remember taking one for a blast back in early 2007 and found myself searching for sixth gear.
I ride because it's more satisfying. I ride because it's more fun. I ride because my Mum told me not to. I ride because as long as I'm paying attention, it's safer than driving.
