Victorian Motorbike Rego!
I got my rego renewal the other day.
$530 freakin dollars! Last year was bad enough being $500. What shits me more is my car cost me $570 last July. How on God's earth does that work?
It's almost at the stage where it's not feasible to ride a motorcycle as a hobby, it needs to be a full time commuter.
/signed one pissed off Victorian.

hmmmmmm
go here http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Motorcycles/
It would seem that surreptitiously Vic Toads have now classified every vehicle under 4.5GVM as one and the same. When did this happen? Cycle or car you now pay the same?
Was ready to tell you to STFU Benno and suffer the consequences of owning a motorcycle that is often disrespected and crashed by idiots often. Hence TAC.
but even 2 years ago when I last paid rego it cost more than our car. From memory around $520.

Its not that much cheaper up here in Anarchy Road mate - $480 for 12 months for anything >600cc.
Just don't mention NSW rates !! What you pay for in Vic for total rego, is just the 3rd party insurance component in NSW !!!!

Victoria is lucky you can park on the footpath and it's slightly more bike friendly.
My ZX6 works out to cost $102 for rego and $686 for CTP ( I think) whoever said bikes are cheaper to run than cars was lying!

Re: Victorian Motorbike Rego!
*starts to dry retch (AGAIN)*, yeah that's not the half of it. The only way i've found to keep the costs HALF reasonable is to have the bike ctp & 3pp insurance with the same insurer (NRMA), which knocks the rego costs down to about $430 or so for 3pp (then there's the rta rego costs!).Gosling1 wrote:Just don't mention NSW rates !! Do you know how much the Rego would be for a 250cc bike (Ninja 250R)?

Re: Victorian Motorbike Rego!
no idea about bike rego down your way......up here a 2fiddy is pretty cheap - I think its about $360 a year all up ? (Anarchy Road = ACT)
I should put rego on the bucket racer (G3SS kwakka) - at 89cc, it would only be about $145 a year !!!!

Re: Victorian Motorbike Rego!
In Nov 09 I paid Rego on the wifes 250 - $350ish Can't find the sheet, can't be bothered to look
In Jan 09 I paid $478 for my ZX10
In Jan 09 I paid $493 for my panal van
In Feb 09 I paid $530 ish for the wifes CRV
Thats right people just under $1800 in three months in Rego for four vehicles (Around Christmas), yet we cannot drive more than one at a time each. Also, if you have two vehicles due rego in the same month you used to be able to pay six months on one of them. Now that is only applicable to people with a concession card.
Now add in that all four are insured fully comp, it's costing me way too much money to be on the road.
