Oooops and another! GONE!

Post by Damon Z1000 »

Coming back from GoldCoast Monday morning, half asleep, 3 hrs into the drive. Going into Grafton. Come up on a truck, pass him on the right, see the flashing lights go the other way and think 'someones in trouble', go over the brow of the hill see an 80 sign start to back off, lights are in my farking rear view!!!

I had missed an earlier 80 sign, sailed through at 105 and accelerated past the truck to 114 according to plod. $621 and four points aaaaannnnnd 3 months SUSPENDED  :kuda:

So looks like I will be joining the hordes on the keep fit campaign and getting one of the local lads that work for me, to chauffer me to and from work for a while.

Farkin NSW speeding law, straight from clean to suspended in one hit cus I had a concentration fart.

Arggghhh well, rant over.

Fark! I got a caution for 120 in an 80 on the way home - glad old mate didn't book me. Sorry to hear about the enforced health kick Damo.

Sorry to hear that Damo, i have to agree about the concentration thing, a couple of times on the way home i had my thoughts wander, then when i looked back at the speedo, i found that i wasn't exactly keeping terribly close to the spirit of the law and immediately rectified the situation.

Amazingly enough i only saw ONE highway patrol on the way home from my detour through Canberra, even though i stayed consistently 10-17% over a vast majority of the trip home.

Oh and Damo, because you were between 30 + 44 over the 3 months should only apply after you receive a letter from the rta indicating the start of your suspension, which will either happen once you have paid the fine, or if like me, you put it off too long and they send you a letter telling you when your walking anyway.

explains what was taking you so long then. but how did you know you sat between 10-17% all the way? way to much time looking at your speedo+ GPS and not at the road

New system does not change for excessive speed 30km over +
They call it execissive speeding & will stay the same after Sept whan the changes are made. Damo I was done for the same amount & I suggest get that fine paid so you can start your time, I made the mistake of paying just before the due date & I tell ya it just prolongs the agony........ Sux mate :?
