Re: Dodgy Avatars (NWS)
Cath I am not sure where I insulted Mick, perhaps the term grandstanding was it, it was not meant as an insult rather stating what I thought was a fact. The definition of which is - perform ostentatiously in order to impress the audience and with an eye to the applause; "She never misses a chance to grandstand".
If there were only 3 people involved and you know him so well why start a thread? That what I was referring to when saying grandstanding.
Clearly I am in the wrong and the majority feel you should do as one person says and I will go on record and apologise to Mick if I offended him.
Done no need to continue a dead thread if only 3 people were carrying the offensive avatars.
Nick

You don't think "perform ostentatiously" is an insult? Seriously? Perhaps when you googled the definition of grandstand, you should've also checked out the definition of ostentatious, because you're actually proving my point.Naked Twin wrote:Cath I am not sure where I insulted Mick, perhaps the term grandstanding was it, it was not meant as an insult rather stating what I thought was a fact. That was a cheap shot. And then to follow it up with a "done no need to continue" so as not to get called on it...Naked Twin wrote:Clearly I am in the wrong and the majority feel you should do as one person says and I will go on record and apologise to Mick if I offended him.
There's no way in the world we feel like we should all do what one person says - and if that's what you take from the comments in this thread, you're not reading for comprehension at all. Seriously - are you for real with that last comment? It's like you've got this pre-conceived idea for what happened and you're clinging onto it, even trying to have the last word so as to confirm your version of events.

I think what Naked Twin fails to realise is that the majority of the people discussed in this thread actually have a friendship away from the forum, unlike many other motorcycling forums. You're making an issue out of nothing.
And red_dave, don't be hating on my pic. I know we can't ALL be eye candy!
I just ride a Yamaha to take the focus off my face.

I think Nick is the one who's having a quiet day and is partaking in a bit of gentle trolling

Guilty as charged, actually looking for a Z750 or FZ6 to replace the smashed road bike, can't decide which one, only doing track days at the moment and missing the road rides.Mick C wrote:I think Nick is the one who's having a quiet day and is partaking in a bit of gentle trolling
Though I don't believe that trolling is a crime, but neither is naughty avatars so we will move on.

Re: Dodgy Avatars (NWS)
I put my avatar up initially as a bit of a laugh and am quite suprised it lasted this long.
Mick asked nicely. I considered his request and decided that it was reasonable. As someone whom I consider a mate and have a relative level of respect for, I decided that his request was more than fair enough.
My avatar has been changed. I added a bit of a dig at the time and I'm sure Mick saw it as such. If he didn't, well, he can just go and get FLUFFY RABBITS. (Edited for work and family safeness).

Funny you say that, my last bike an FZ1 went down the road on a nice bit of gravel with me sliding on my ass backwards down the road.robracer wrote:Id feel guilty as well...... mate stay away from thos yammays just look what happend to bennoNaked Twin wrote:Guilty as charged, actually looking for a FZ6 to replace the smashed road bike![]()
